CrossFit Journal

World-Class Fitness in 100 Words:

  • Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports.

Click on the link above to see Nicole from headquarters

absolutely humiliate the biggest guy at the certification

seminar.  This is our definition of strength, "the ability to

produce force along productive lines."  This means that although

big muscles may be present, the ability to use them in a productive

manner may not be.  Strength has little value without the balance,

accurracy, precision, and coordination to apply it.  At CrossFit OKC we develop

these skills and many others, all pertinent to improving your fitness level.

We use the "Elite" rings from power ring training to place

demands on the upper body that otherwise would not be there

with more stable implements.  The rings provide a nearly frictionless

plane in which stability, along with strength, is developed.
