CrossFit Journal

World-Class Fitness in 100 Words:

  • Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports.

Fight Gone Bad Fundraiser September 29, 2007

We will be working with Athlete’s For a Cure again this year to raise money for The Prostate Cancer Foundation with our Fight Gone Bad Fundraiser.

Below is a letter from their headquarters detailing how to register.

Last years event was a huge success. I hope you will join in the fun and good cause again this year.

We are counting down the days to FIGHT GONE BAD II

As you know, Athletes for a Cure is the proud presenter of this event, happening September 29th, 2007.  We want to get as many affiliates on board as we possibly can to make this event bigger and better than ever.  Last year, we raised just under $110,000 for prostate cancer research.  This year, the goal is $250,000 and I know we can make this a reality with your support and enthusiasm!

Here’s how to register:

  1. Go to www.athletesforacure.org, and click on “2007 CrossFit Fight Gone Bad” under “Upcoming Events”.

  2. Click on "CrossFit OKC" under the teams list.

  3. Register as an “Athlete” and select "join a team".

  4. Select CrossFit OKC from the list.

  5. Enter your info and make a donation!  Registration is free!

  6. Tell everyone you can about this event.

We are here to support your efforts every step of the way.  Don’t hesitate to contact us to help with online registration at  1-800-757-2873 ext. 4696, or email webmaster@athletesforacure.org.  This event proved to be a spectacular day last year in every way:  the communities came out to prove how great their centers are, CrossFit

showed what a phenomenal system it is across the entire country, and we raised a substantial donation for research and to help find a cure for prostate cancer.

We look forward to this year’s challenge and seeing you there!

Best,

Athletes for a Cure

REST DAY

Taking into consideration that we do not run long distance
very often, why do you think we're seeing a declination
of time each time we do run long distance?  How about
with respect to aerobic capacity?

Post thoughts to comments.
