Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports.

Not to discourage anyone, but today, I just couldn't bear the thought of running in that 50mph south wind. So instead I did the following:
CFOKCWU - 2X
500 Double Unders for time: 19:58 (not a good time...just glad to finish...they are definitely getting easier)
3 sets of 5 weighted pull-ups. 35lbs.
Okay, finally after 9+ months at Crossfit I ran my first 5K today. What a day to pick for that! First goal was not to die and the second was to keep it under my age. Got both!
35:55
Happy b-day jason... my knees were still killing me from the 10 miles I ran yesterday so... no running for the Drew man today, but jiu jitsu was a great workout so i didn't feel too bad about it... way to go guys in that wind!!! That's brutal
5 rounds of:
400m run
10 95# thrusters
10 R 10 L of sledgehammers
hand over hand sled pull for 50'
finished with
3 1 min rounds of triple crush with 1 pood kb
2 1 min rounds of figure 8 to a hold 1 pood
1 1 min round of squat thrust, SDHP, thruster with 1 pood
1 1 min round of plank to push up.
Sorry Momo! I quickly wrote my above comment...couldn't remember what they called the whistles and comments of appreciation from construction guys as a woman passes by. Catcalls is not it! I asked my husband and he said he didn't know, but that guys hadn't come up with anything more creative in the last several centuries. Oh well! I guess what I meant was congrats on getting the attention...and for running your first 5k!

Catcall sounded right to me too. oh well. Nothing hotter than a woman who's windblown, sweaty, and gasping for air! And I do mean windblown.
